Samsung and Infineon/NXP have reached a cooperation

On June 6, according to foreign media SAMMobile, Samsung has reached cooperation with Infineon and NXP.

The cooperation will be based on Samsung's 5nm process to jointly develop next-generation automotive chip solutions. The focus is on "optimizing the co-design of memory and processors" and working to "enhance the chip's security performance and real-time processing capabilities." Samsung is reportedly developing a highly integrated SoC solution for this field to achieve better energy efficiency.

Samsung already has deep ties with Infineon and NXP. A few years ago, there were rumors that Samsung might acquire Infineon/NXP, but these mergers and acquisitions did not ultimately take place. Under the new cooperation framework, Samsung will leverage its accumulation in memory chips and foundry to seize the trend in automotive-grade semiconductors.
