Munich, Germany, 10 Sep. 2024, TASKING, recently promoted to NXP Gold Partner status, has boosted its tools support to optimize and accelerate software development for automotive microcontrollers and processors from NXP Semiconductors, with the introduction of VX-toolset for Arm v7.1r1, a compiler toolchain for embedded software development. This new version of the compiler toolchain now fully supports S32K388 and can be used with the real-time driver (RTD) of the microcontroller. In addition, the TASKING iC7 series debugger now supports the virtualization and hardware development of NXP's recently released S32N in-vehicle super-integrated processor.
VX-toolset for NXP S32K388 Microcontroller Real-Time Driver (RTD)
The VX-toolset platform combined with the NXP real-time driver enables software developers to take full advantage of the Arm architecture. In combination with TASKING's iC7 series debugger and winIDEA integrated development environment (IDE), developers have a complete integrated solution for developing automotive embedded software for AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSR applications.
Support for NXP S32N Series Automotive Super Integrated Processor
TASKING iC7 series debugger supports software development of S32N series vehicle super integrated processor from both virtual and hardware aspects. Virtual development is supported by using the Synopsys VDK, while traditional ECU software development is supported by the iC7 series small blue box connected to the NXP S32N55 series processor. In addition, the integration of the TASKING debugger with NXP S32DS (S32 Design Studio IDE) has been greatly improved.
When Available
TASKING VX-Toolset for Arm v7.1r1 has already launched and will be exhibited at the Tech Days event of NPX, held on October 30-31, 2024, in Detroit America. In addition, TASKING debugger support for S32N series processors has also been in service.
"We are proud to be called the Gold Partner of NXP, and through the TASKING Arm compiler toolchain, we are once again honoring our commitment to providing engineers with safe and reliable software development tools." Said Christoph Herzog, TASKING Chief Technology Officer.
"NXP is committed to creating a dynamic, open ecosystem around high-performance microcontrollers and processors. Our partnership with TASKING is a good example of how this ecosystem works in harmony, giving customers the flexibility to choose the best development platform for their solutions." Said David Vieira, Sr. Director Zonal Solutions at NXP.
